Here is a selection of a few pieces I’ve made which I particularly like. For more specific collections, please view the relevant sub-page.
The quietest waters hold the biggest secrets
This was for an art jam, the theme being the title of the piece. For this one I wanted a mysterious atmosphere, and I liked the idea of bisecting the image with the waterline, to better capture the quietness of the water in contrast to the secrets within. I had lots of fun on this watercolour, and the dragon’s silver belly and face, as well as the gold coins, are painted with shiny paint.
The creatures that come out in the rain
I was given the prompt “The creatures that come out in the rain” as part of an art jam, which led me to create this painting. The water dragon is a creature I came up with previously, and it is a creature that comes out in the rain, so it felt fitting to include them here. I really loved going for a storybook style, and I’m very happy with the mood created here.
Sea Snail Dragon
This one was painted for Smaugust, a challenge to design dragons. I used a type of sea slug for inspiration.
Spooky Season
A series of illustrations featuring a little frog and their witch. This one is themed around Halloween.
Reverie by the sea
This depicts a selkie, a creature from Celtic mythology. They are seals, that can take their skins off to take a human form, and in this painting you can see a half clad selkie.
A Forgotten Promise
This was painted with an art challenge Swordtember in mind. The key is embellished with gold paint, which looks lovely in person.
Ginger Floof
This fluffy orange cat is outside the bathroom, and has just shaken the water out of his fur, causing a mess of droplets and a puddle.
Day 22 of Inktober 2019
Ink with dip pen and brush. This one depicts someone remembering fondly some loved ones, the memories are happy, but the loss is profound.
